About the Authors

Matthew Louie is a PhD student in composition and rhetoric at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently teaching English 100 (FYC). His background as a Cantonese-CHamoru scholar informs his research as he engages in discussions surrounding anti-racist writing pedagogy and assessment, linguistic justice, and cultural and indigenous rhetorics with the goal of empowering his students alongside contributing to cultural revitalization efforts in his communities.

Sujash Purna is a PhD student in the Composition and Rhetoric program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include immigration rhetorics, institutional violence in literacy, and teaching with AI. A recipient of the CCCC Scholars for the Dream Travel Award in 2024, Sujash teaches English 201–Intermediate Composition and instructs at the UW-Madison Writing Center. He is the author of five books of poetry and essays on immigration and writing.
