Academic Leadership by Day, Student by Night: Juggling Department Management, Teaching, and a PhD Program as a Minority Woman

About the Author

Barbara c.g. Green is a PhD student in the Technical Communication and Rhetoric department at Texas Tech University. She also holds an MA in English with a concentration in creative writing and an MS in Education in Instructional Technology with a concentration in adult learning in higher education. In addition to being a student, Barbara is the Assistant Chair of the English and Rhetoric Department at Purdue Global where she works to bring her academic personas together via her research that examines how writing remains crucial for professional success in today’s digital world, while exploring how user experience design can influence both student and faculty behavior. When not pursuing academic endeavors, she relishes time with her family and dogs in the Sonoran Desert.
